Share your successes!

Throughout 2016, our education series will focus on webinars led by practitioners who have implemented innovative programs that exceeded goals and expectations.

Webinars will be 1.5 hours long and OAHP will provide the technology (and training to use it).

Send an email to info@ohioahp.us with your ideas to share with your peers.

The Board of Directors of OAHP is pleased to announce that Convincing the Head and the Heart will be the theme of OAHP's Spring Conference in Columbus on March 31 - April 1, 2016. The idea behind the theme is that if you convince the donors' head, they will donate; but if you convince their heart, they will donate MORE.

Join us Wednesday night from 7:00 - 8:30 for a networking reception to meet old and new friends involved in healthcare philanthropy throughout Ohio. Free hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar will be offered.

speakers

On Thursday morning, Kerri Mollard, Sharon Steele, Dr. Patrick Maynard, and Suzy Davis will present Gaining Clarity Builds Engagement – A Northstar Point of View. In the afternoon, Kerri Mollard and Dr. Laura Hill will presnt Building a Campaign and a Culture. These presentations focus on real-world examples of how implementing best practices achieved amazing results.

Storytelling will be the focus on Friday, when Lisa Arledge Powell presents How Storytelling Can Turn into Donors and Tips, Tactics & Tricks for Implementing Storytelling into Your Communications Plan. Again, real-world case studies are the focus, demonstrating how local and national nonprofit organizations effectively use storytelling to drive donations and achieve other measurable results. Leave with ready-to-implement steps on how to build a newsroom-style storytelling team and use it to better connect with potential donors.

Click here for more information about the conference. Everyone who registers for the conference before March 1st receives a $25 discount, so be sure to register early.

We have negotiated a special rate with the Courtyard Columbus West for $111 per night for conference attendees, but you must reserve your room no later than March 15th.

Sponsorships are available for companies wishing to meet with key decision-makers in the healthcare philanthropy industry. Click here for more details.

PLANNING AN EVEN STRONGER OAHP

The OAHP board and educational conferences are almost entirely volunteer-driven. Your fundraising peers in Ohio Hospitals strive to use our collective resources of time, treasure and talent to provide members with high quality education and networking opportunities. This noble work is more challenging in today’s environment even as it is more important than ever!

OAHPIn order to assure that we continue to serve you well, the Board launched a strategic planning process. A planning task force will evaluate our current structure and practices for planning and execution of our spring and fall conferences. The main issues we want to address are listed below:

  1. Are we offering the most current and cutting-edge educational programs that meet your needs?
  2. Do we have enough revenue to continue attracting highly qualified conference speakers?
  3. Should we have one conference or two annually?
  4. What does a sustainable model for leadership and conference planning look like for 2016 and beyond?

We welcome your feedback in this process. Please send us your comments and suggestions to Larry Halm, president, at president@OhioAHP.us.

In lieu of holding a fall conference this year, the task force will work to answer these questions this summer/fall. They will then make a recommendation to the board for consideration. We anticipate an even stronger OAHP that offers first class educational experiences.

In the meantime, please think of sharing your successes for our Fall webinar series.
